Reading Therapy for the Dyslexic Person


The Slingerland based multi-sensory methods used to teach these classes are taught by a Certified Slingerland Trainer.  The Slingerland approach uses visual, auditory, and kinesthetic modalities – along with the English language rules that support language acquisition and understanding.

GED Tutoring

Using sample questions similar in content and format to the official GED tests, we provide you with an introduction to the test and topics that you will expect to find on the GED test.  We provide support as needed to assist in the strengthening of the learning in specific foundational skills for successful completion of the GED exam.
 
Training for Individual Medical Needs 

If you have received a medical diagnosis and could use support, we offer one-on-one training and support services looking from a bio-psychosocial lens.

Professional Assessments 
Different options are offered according to your needs:

*Educational Screening: 
            Analysis of the level in reading comprehension, word recognition, spelling, and math level

*Dyslexic Pattern Screening:
Identification of dyslexic patterns in order to remediate the issues at hand.

            
 
*Psycho-Educational Assessment: 
                
Testing as needed in order to establish eligibility for Special Education Services
            Intelligence (I.Q.), academic achievement, memory abilities, language and adaptive
            behaviors, learning disability assessments by Licensed Psychologist


Professional Teacher and Parent Training
Training for Individual Teachers and Parents:

                Slingerland training provided in a group setting for 8 hours seminar style, plus four hours in a lab setting.  (The lab setting is arranged for a later date).
